Hop over to Elliott Brood’s website and you shall find a sign that says ‘Gone Fishin’…on tour that is.’ Could any turn of phrase be truer for this rootsy trio of bespoke woodsmen? Listen to their banjo pickin’ and piano plinkin’ cover of Feist’s “Graveyard” (a preview for their new record dropping September 1) and you will decide that no, nothing could be truer than that. Here, faded strings lead the way for plush drumming and hummable harmonies. Pack it into your tent and go.
