"Constant Conversations," a dirge that mixes extreme emotion with the melancholy sped-up soul vibe of early-2000s Just Blaze, is a sure standout on Passion Pit's new album Gossamer. Here, St. Lucia, aka Brooklyn artist Jean-Philip Grobler, keeps a strong song mostly intact but adds some glitzy synths to up the dosage of artificial happiness.
