It’s not that I’ve exactly slept on this new Night Works tune “The Eveningtime.” More like I’ve been folding into its featherweight dancepop like a chenille blanket on a rainy day. Rolling around in its musicality, chewing on its soft bassline, running my fingers through the guitar threads, allowing its soft-bitten vocals to lull me into a blithe stupor. It is meant for evening time, after all. But, I’ve realized I can’t indulge in it alone and under the cover of night forever. Let me pass the torch so you may bask in the moody goodness that is Gabriel Stebbing’s (ex-Metronomy) solo effort. More on August 6, when it’s all released via Loose Lips.
