Electronic maestro Matthew Dear is prolific – always experimenting, always seeking new places to push sound and song. "Pipe Dreams (Demo)" is a new one that Dear produced after walking around Brooklyn and doing field recordings of ambient urban street noise. That unsettling, mysterious bed forms the basis for a disconcerting torch song about going on the run.
