Kentucky guitarist Mark Fosson does wonders with a 12-string in the tradition of bluesy weirdos like John Fahey. In fact, he recorded a lost album for Fahey's Takoma Records in 1976, which went unreleased until 2006. Fosson recently got around to unveiling the beautiful home demos for those sessions via the always-great Tompkins Square. "Gorilla Mountain" is a perfect impenetrable example of Fosson reaching majestic heights with just a guitar and his hands. Hear more on Digging In The Dust: Home Recordings 1976, which is out now.
