To me it seemed like 2012 got off to a slow start, at least musically. But now that the summer months have hits and the release calendars have been flooded with new albums, there has been a surge of standouts. I don't know that there is any sort of common thread stringing my selections together, but apparently I either want to dance, mosh or mope.
