It's so hot outside right now that listening to John Maus, with his woozy production, feels close to flirting with death. That's fun, though! "Bennington," a cut from 2007 that will appear on the creatively-named A Collection Of Rarities And Previously Unreleased Material, is yet another track by Maus that sounds crazy at first but slowly unfolds in your brain for hours, little melodies hanging around like chill ghosts. The comp is out July 17 in North America (and a day earlier in the rest of the world) via Ribbon Music.
