DOWNLOAD: Dent May - Shakedown Street (Grateful Dead Cover)

Mississippian Dent May probes the poppy sonics of the '60s and '70s on his recent album Do Things, so a Grateful Dead cover isn't too much of a surprise. "Shakedown Street" is a fairly faithful take on the studio version from the 1978 Dead album of the same name – a steady beat propping up trippy guitar and synth warbles. It'll be interesting to see if May begins to play the tune live and even more intriguing to identify any and all vending areas outside of jam band shows (colloquially "Shakedown Streets") that have migrated to his gigs. Dent May incense holder, anyone?
