Los Angeles band Ancestors is self-described as psychedelic prog-rock, which, despite some preconceived connotations, feels apt. The group’s new album, In Dreams And Time, veers through tumultuous sonic landscapes, finding surging heights and hushed lows. “Running In Circles" is reminiscent of Mogwai or Godspeed You! Black Emperor (although with vocals), as its soaring instrumentals expand and contract.
