Seattle rock band Brad, the side project of Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard, formed nearly 20 years ago. The group releases its fifth album, United We Stand, today via Razor & Tie, and it's a collection of alt-rock numbers led by singer/pianist Shawn Smith. “Bound In Time” is a reflective track that fuses rock with jazzy tones and a subtle pop melody that falls somewhere between Gossard’s formative band and a jammy workout. If that sounds convoluted, it’s not. “Bound In Time” is, at its core, an amiable mid-tempo rocker.
