Like Pioneers, a Chicago group that formed in 2010 and features former members of Bound Stems and Narrator, will release its sophomore effort, Oh, Magic, on May 22. The album follows the band’s debut Piecemeal and was recorded mostly live – a fact that shines through in the tracks’ organic quality. “Boggs” is an early listen from the new album – a shimmering six-plus minute indie rock number that finds its legs in an extended instrumental jam.
