Welcome to Ninja Tune week at RCRD LBL Dance, where we revel in textural jams from one of our favorite underground labels. Ninja started in 1990 by ‘80s hip hop/electro enthusiasts/widely recognized trip-hop inventors Coldcut, and has since morphed into a house of stellar artists (Toddla T, The Cinematic Orchestra, Poirier, Daedelus) and the proud overlord of Big Dada and Motion Audio. Today’s cream of the crop offering comes from Bonobo: a bang-up DJ who turns funk, soul, d’n’b and whatever else’s left in the kitchen sink into 14-carat ear gold.
