Terry Malts is one of those bands that somehow remains fiercely melodic without caring too much about sloppiness. "Tumble Down" is basically a sonic ball of fuzz. What sounds like guitars, keyboards and bass blur together into three chords, while drums bash away with wild propulsion. When it all comes together, it's a beautiful, poppy chaos. The group's debut LP, Killing Time, hits February 21 via Slumberland.
