The original “Skeleton” is an anthemic burst of bright living somewhere between La Roux’s haircut and Gwen Stefani’s wardrobe. This CREEP remix, not so much. It sounds like what blares from a haunted house party set in an abandoned penitentiary. Nerd fact—penitentiary is so named as it is a place to inspire penitence in its inhabitants, to feel sorry for one’s sins just by being in the building, and that’s why they’re as unpleasant and oppressively-built as they are. Indeed, The Good Natured should be sorry that they ever let CREEP near their poppy dance tune. All they got in return was their flesh peeled away to the brittle synthy bone. More skeleton than they intended, for sure. Revive them of this mortal mistake by buying their new EP of the same name.
