Carter Tanton, he of Tulsa and Lower Dens, has gone off on his own and has a new album entitled Freeclouds. "Fake Pretend," a track featuring vocals from Marissa Nadler, swirls around and seems hard to grasp until a jutting chorus kicks things into shape with a fully-formed dance of languid guitars and buzzy background static.
