We love anything DJ Ayres is involved in. The Rub? Amazing. And those Heavy Warmups? Just dope. So, when he rings to inform us he’s involved in trunk-music-cum-future-bass duo Clicks & Whistles’ new Neva Get Caught/Raw Passion split, we stood up quick. Lots of great takes on the record, including those by Tittsworth, Deathface, and Starks & Nacey, though our hearts belong first to Ayres’ own transcendent and synthy spin of “Raw Passion.” Pop pads, raindrops and chipmunk vox make this one feel like we're night swimming in Avatar; it's that lush and dizzying.
