Jane’s Addiction fans have been waiting nearly eight years for a follow-up to 2003’s Strays. The LA rock band, helmed by singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins, have finally returned with a new disc, The Great Escape Artist, which comes out today (Oct. 18) via Capitol Records. The album, a surging return to the group’s signature alt-rock, was aided by TV On the Radio’s multi-instrumentalist Dave Sitek as well as former bass player Chris Chaney. “Irresistible Force,” the album’s second single, is an enlivening swell of straight-up rock ‘n’ roll.
