Gotta love dem, dem girlz. Here, though, there is no girlz. What? Instead, Funkystepz liberate The Weeknd from the finger-plucked prison of his lonely R&B fantasies, and set his voice flying over the top of insistent snares and scare-away bass groans. In between, though, there's still a whole lotta space; testament, in my fevered and overactive imagination, to the absence of something in The Weeknd's life that's causing him so much pain.
