The fact that Slim Gravy of A.Dd+ repurposed Yael Naim’s burlesque cover of Britney Spears’ “Toxic” for non-album track “Can’t Come Down,” already tells us that these guys are 2011’s cerebral hip-hop duo to watch. That’s like three layers deep into straight female pop! How did they even hear that cover of a cover in the first place? Dallas ballers are complex, y’all. They’re also fast-spitting, smooth-rhyming, and politically-motivated in today's screwed-down approach. Get the ones that made the cut on one of the absolutely best albums of the year, When Pigs Fly, out now.
