Mississippi born and Memphis raised, Jack Oblivian is intent on keeping the garage alive until his grave. A member of pioneering groups The Compulsive Gamblers and The Oblivians, those bands have become cult classics while native sons Jack White and Jay Reatard have both listed him as an influence. Taking cues from proto punk and adding a bit of country and blues on top of his signature snarl, “Rat City” is the title track from the singer’s latest album.
