Dancing in the woods is a reality if you hit the Emerging Music Festival (EMF)—a Labor Day event in a Quebec mining outpost full of lake swimmin’, spruce tree climbin’, and 60 up-and-coming bands that'll all be famous by this time next year. Some names you already know (Akron/Family, Miracle Fortress), and some you don’t (Gatineau). But you'll get familiar with genres from club to metal, and since the place is so amazingly secluded, it’ll provide an opportunity to chill with bands and concert-goers, tell ghost stories, and get away from it all (except music and marshmallows).
