Native son Elba is a big band with the sound to match, putting out fleshy pop with vocals that knock it into a different gear than standard indie—nothing forceful, just distinct in their own way. “From A Sinking Ship” sees them flirting with a guitar that shifts genres seamlessly, almost post-punk at times as it carries the back-half of the track.
