With Paul Weller, the man they call the Modfather and onetime leader of U.K. legends The Jam, it's easy to bet on punk-oriented rock 'n' roll. Yet on a new single, the veteran appears in another guise he's often used throughout his career: master of the dance floor. Weller drops "Starlite" today (August 8), and here's a chilled-out remix from Russia's D-Pulse. This one is all chopped breakbeats, gothic tones and Weller's powerful psychedelic vocals, eventually bubbling into a mesmerizing electronic stew. The "Starlite" single is available today via Island.
