DOWNLOAD: Caveman - Old Friend
Caveman, a five-piece from downtown New York City, nails harmonies in a way that would make mid-'00s indie pop perfectionists like The Shins, Grizzly Bear and Papercuts proud. We know the tune. "Old Friend" balances between trebly guitar jangle, organ waves and sharp vocal melodies. Really, the track's name reflects the content. Like an old friendship, we've been there before, but we love this sort of song for its comfort, sincerity and warmth. Caveman's self-released debut album, CoCo Beware, is out digitally on September 13.
