L.A. MC Trek Life has worked with everyone from Dilated People to will.i.am, but still hasn't been as widely recognized or renowned as some of his collaborators. Nonetheless, as the title of his remix album attests, he wouldn't have it any other way. Wouldn't Change Nothing, out now on Mello Music Group, is a remix album of Trek's Everything Changed Nothing, featuring contributions from Apollo Brown, Has-Lo, and J. Bizness. On the title track, Oddisee conjures a dramatic setting — snare rim cracks, an echoing piano loop, punctuating synth blasts — for Trek's self-affirmations, which depict a man who has made his decisions based on what he thinks is right, and is all the happier for it.
