Feels a bit like a spoiler this, given it's the closing track on Marco Del Horno's new album about living and almost dying in London. On it, Marco strides out from behind the decks to tell the story of the last five years of his life. So here we meet him at the end of his narrative, recovered enough mentally from a late-night stabbing to want to go out and get drunk in London again. "Let's be very clear," he's stated, "I'm not a rapper." And he's right, he's not, but there's still something charming about his words, I guess because they come from a heart that was almost stopped in its tracks learning about this sort of stuff—lasers, drugs, dancing, warehouses, girls, friends, sirens. Kavsrave's remix does him favours, a grime-y dubstep remix circled by menacing synths like electronic vultures, couching Del Horno's voice in a bed of shadow. The album, Wake Up Call, is out through the producer's own Bullet Train label now.
