Amon Tobin has long been one of the few electronic artists for listeners that hate electronic music. His deep sonic exploration never gets too academic and his penchant for innovative mixing and cold melody has kept him interesting since he broke out with Supermodified in 2000. Take "Lost And Found" from Tobin's new album ISAM -- one of three he plans to release this year with Ninja Tune. Breathy vocals run into stuttering, granular electronics and a squishy, slow beat. You think it's building towards a theatrical climax, but Tobin instead peels everything away, letting the track lapse into deconstructed Spanish-sounding guitar figures.
