On first listen to "Throw Away This," fans of Telepathe's 2009 album Dance Mother may wince at the track's accessibility. In comparison to the odd beat constructions, swerving vocal melodies, and slanted synth patterns of Dance Mother's songs, the relatively straightforward drum beat, funky guitar picking, and menacing synths on "Throw Away This" may sound like a step back. But what Telepathe may have lost in complexity they more than make up for with immediacy, as "Throw Away This'" ceaselessly catchy chorus and jumpy, propulsive beat pronounce its pleasures as soon as you hit the play button, then again, and again.
