Sometimes I pass by the Brill Building on my walk home from work and try to channel the spirit of Spector. Sometimes I listen to songs and realize that other people already have. In what is half-homage, half-Slumberland special, the latest group to debut on the label has put forth some fine 70s glam in single "Sweet Tooth". Oakland's Kids On A Crime Spree keep the pop light and the lyrics appropriately moody, hand clapping their salute to Back To Mono on upcoming EP We Love You So Bad. Need I even mention the analog tape (or the sojourn to New York to find the singer's inner-Phil)? Grab the 12-inch May 31.
