In 2003, the metal faced villain removed his mask to reveal his "real" self. Viktor Vaughn AKA MF DOOM is the pseudonym DOOM adopts for his most "ordinary" persona, typically relegating the production work to alternate beatmakers and focusing on his twisted, goofy, elaborate rhyming. "Raedawn," from his 2003 debut as Viktor Vaughn, Vaudeville Villain, is such an example, a seemingly free association rhyme that corresponds to a day driving around New York City, stopping at bodegas and Chinese restaurants along the way. On this remix, Swedish-Chinese producer Kaman Leung inverts Heat Sensor's original beat, keeping the electronic elements of the original by adding some 8-bit keyboard patches and skittering 808 hi-hats and kick drums. Until now, this track has only been featured on 7-inch vinyl pressing in Japan and Singapore, but Sound-Ink is offering this exclusively in conjunction with a deluxe 3xLP reissue of Vaudeville Villain, due May 10th through Fat Beats.
