“Prisoner of Love” by Jessica 6, made up of former members of Hercules and Love Affair, is from the band’s debut, See The Light, coming out in June from Peacefrog. The song, featuring the always-brilliant vocals of Antony Hegarty sounds a little like it was left on the cutting room floor of the former band’s eponymous debut, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s not the sound of a group parodying themselves in a new incarnation, but rather picking up where they left off, with a propulsive bass driven beat, swirling synths and foreboding late night club music, suggesting the time of night, or morning, when everyone should be pairing off and going home.
