I get the feeling Evan Thomas Weiss likes themes. In 2009, the Chicago resident released the culmination of his ambitious 52 songs in 52 weeks online recording project, hopping from that straight to Twelve Towns, 12 songs about his experiences in 12 different U.S. locations released on six separate splits. Still with me? The latest and final piece in the series is an upcoming 7-inch with Rochester's Such Gold, featuring Weiss' (who records as Into It. Over It.) take on "Portland, OR". The track is reminiscent of early era Death Cab, harking back to the skilled, understated indie that made that band so big in the first place. Weiss' thoughts on DC will also be made available come May 24, when the record drops via No Sleep and Mightier Than Sword.
