The exclamation point attached to the end of the name of one of the figures in the holy trinity should give you some sense of what we’re dealing with here: dance music that takes itself seriously—“In the heart of darkness…I feel dumb I feel helpless,” Alex Frankel sings—but the group isn’t afraid to be idiosyncratic and fun nonetheless. This new track by Holy Ghost! has a wordless hook that’s about as catchy as "Da Doo Ron Ron" and a beat that’s so slick, it makes us feel like there’s a whole lot of hope in this post-LCD Soundsystem world.
