Sounds like everything's in place for Mona to ascend into the rock heavens. Neat line in leather shoes, a lead singer with a distinctive throat (Nick Brown sounds a little like a sacrifical goat being throttled) and a background in the USA's religious South—what more could Kings Of Leon fans craving a fix of something new ask for? This remix, courtesy of Brooklyn's Dave Sitek, turns the original's skyscraping guitars into flaring synths and shuffling, urban jungle rhythms. Mona's self-titled debut album arrives courtesy of Island on May 16.
