It won't surprise you to learn that Niva's from Sweden. The Stockholm-based producer deals in the sort of timid, foggy beauty his young, music-playing countrymen are known for—which isn't to say "Ghost In My Head" is in any way chillwave, because it's really not. Unlike so many of the shy boys alive and satisfying creative urges in Stockholm at the moment, there seems to be a reason for Niva's fear. There's a paranoia to "Ghost In My Head" that makes it pretty heartbreaking, and Visions Of Trees don't exactly help matters when they turn up and do their 'WE ARE THE NEW KINGS OF UK MISERABLISM" thing all over it. Find the original on an EP called Feverish Dreams, out through Something In Construction on March 27.
