PREMIERE: French Horn Rebellion - What I Want (JD Samson's Eva Hesse Remix)
Percolating tick-tocks and brooding synths allow JD Samson (MEN) to rework French Horn Rebellion’s “What I Want” into something gentler, calmer, and ultimately detached. That is, until about three and a half minutes in, when a brief Technicolor interlude brings overwhelming warmth. It cuts out soon after in a fitting homage to the remix’s namesake—Eva Hesse was a prolific German-American sculptor whose life and career ended tragically in 1970.
