I've already expressed my admiration for Dam Mantle's First Wave, and I could probably drop tracks off of that album for a whole week. But now I'm psyched for what the guy might do next. Here is a premiere of a brand new track, "Jazz Band Inna Circus Tent," by Dam Mantle and the Hungry Ghosts. Who are the Hungry Ghosts? I'm not really sure! According to my source on the inside, The Hungry Ghosts are working on a film score, and this is part of it. Whatever the movie is, it sounds promising, with "Jazz Band Inna Circus Tent" creeping along a progressively off-balance drum beat, some clips of harp plucks, and eerie railroad bells. Voices and disruptions emerge from nowhere, and seem to have nowhere to go. Then the track collapses in on itself, leaving dust and debris to fall like feathers into the dark space below.
