To turn Cold War Kids' anthemic rock tune "Louder Than Ever' into a hypnotic dreamscape seems like a daunting task, but Active Child has it on lock. Marred lines between thick nightmarish—grim, but not scary—beats and sweet bells lulling into nocturne do just the trick. The dichotomy creates lush atmosphere, equally as addictive as the original. Cold War Kids are on the road now (dates here), including a show on March 24 at NYC's legendary Radio City Music Hall with No Age and Baths. Their album Mine Is Yours is out now on Downtown.
