A couple weeks ago, we offered up "Something New," a fluid, blazeworthy track by the Chicago recording studio/art collective Closed Sessions. Like that track, "Heads Of The Heads" also features Freddie Gibbs, but it boasts the additional talents of GLC, whom you may remember from his appearances on Kanye West's "Spaceship" and "Drive Slow." Like "Something New," the beat here has a neon, extraterrestrial vibe with an ordered, cracking beat underneath. While "Heads Of The Heads" is a bit spookier, it's science-fiction feel is perfect for the syruped up chorus and Gibbs' and GLC's cocky, quickfire verses. Like the saddest and scariest tracks on Outkast's ATLiens, "Heads Of The Heads" has a sense of both the spiritual and the surreal, coasting along on its mossy, funkdafied spaceship.
