Have you heard? Food is officially the new indie rock.* This breaking pop culture news is merely business as usual for the Snacky Tunes bros, who’ve been broadcasting their excellent food’n’music radio show (out of Bushwick pizza’n’party spot Roberta’s) since August 2009. Tomorrow, their weekly gathering of local cooks, butchers, bands, DJs and hungry miscreants shall see a wide (and free) release via the Snacky Tunes compilation, which will feature acoustic takes by Surfer Blood, Midnight Magic, Frankie Rose and The Outs, and more. Those demanding an album amuse-bouche may taste Blood Orange’s “Forget It,” in bare and beautiful form below.
