DOWNLOAD: Dude Japan - Raft Captain

When you're a fan of Sebadoh and Slumberland it shows, and Long Island's Dude Japan thankfully makes no apologies for this influence. After a 7-inch split with Weed Hounds last year—easily one of my favorite releases of 2010—the band is back with LP The Things That Matter. "Raft Captain" is an example of the clean, classic indie that makes their output so great, harking back to a time when it was ok to lose the distortion and make your mark on skilled songwriting alone. Grab the digital full length from Rok Lok and the upcoming cassette on Keep It Together.
