DOWNLOAD: Com Truise - Space Dust + Innerfacer

A thinly veiled distortion of a marquee movie star, Tristate Area instrumentalist Com Truise similarly jumbles pop culture touchstones in his music. On Ghostly's recently reissued edition of his Cyanide Sisters EP, designer and producer Seth Haley takes the sounds of your favorite '80s movie scores, alternative radio snippets, and moribund keyboards and restructures them in unusual ways. On "Innerfacer," it's in the way that a marching, Industrial drum beat shoves along a wonky, alien keyboard; on "Spacedust," it's how a befogged keyboard drifts along a crisp drumbeat, like trying to play a busted videotape of a John Hughes movie. As much for fans of Ariel Pink as Aphex Twin, you can hear more of Truise's warped hybrids on the currently available Cyanide Sisters EP, and see what he does next when Ghostly releases his album, Galactic Melt, in May.
