Is disco the friendliest music of all time? Sure, in all the footage from the 70s I've seen, the early days crowd seem ridiculously libidinous and intimidatingly convinced of their own cool, but I always got the impression that once you were in the clique, you were sweet for life. This Walter Sobcek remix of Chilly Gonzales' "You Can Dance" prefers things a little cuter and more starry-eyed than the original does, but both exude a naivety that feels too heartwarming to be drug-induced, and too sincere to be faked. While a lot of dance music seems to yearn for teenage dabbles with house or rave, this feels like it taps into something more elemental. Relive the disco childhood you never had when this comes out March 1.
