When pop's Balearic, it's so durable. The perfect fit in summer moments, springtime gives it an anticipatory buzz, autumn regret and in February it becomes something exotic and unimaginably ideal. This Clancy remix of Kisses' "Midnight Lover" is at the winter stage in its lifecycle, so its synths sound reaching and its vocals beamed in from another reality, though I hear Jesse and Zinzi (and their dog) are from Los Angeles, so maybe they exist in a permanent Balearic winter. I hope not. That'd be very sad. Kisses' debut album The Heart of the Nightlife is out now through This Is Music.
