Ostgut Ton is the label branch of Berlin club Berghain, one of the largest and most notorious clubs in the city. For their latest release, they are debuting the talents of Panorama Bar (just one level of the club) resident DJ Steffi, with her full-length Yours & Mine, out this week. Aside from running her own label, Klakson, Steffi also creates tracks like "Mine," which showcases a reverence for old school Chicago house music. The song is a time warp to 1989, with its clicking snare edge; high-pitched, spectral keyboards; and twisty, level-shifting bass line. Either a mid-tempo number for the dance floor, a steady number for driving, or a comedown for the end of the night, "Mine" is textbook throwback house, somehow earthy and synthetic, soulful and spooky.
