PREMIERE: Quiet Lights - No More Canyons

In spite of all the club thumpers I am generally touting, this is the kind of stuff I am a sucker for: Thick, lush guitars, moody vocals, tidal wave drum procession. Quiet Lights' sound is muddy wallflowering, the kind of thing for anyone who was brought up on a healthy dose of Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine and Come. And if that is what brings you indie rock palate satisfaction, "No More Canyons"—in all its dissonant stringed glory—is another room-swallower. Check them out at Brurar Falls in Brooklyn on February 11.
