80s babies probably remember a time when Robyn S was begging you to show her love (not our favorite sans-S-Swede who had a song of the same title) and Ultra Naté was telling you that you were free to do what you want to do. These songs—"Show Me Love" and "Free," respectively—were created expressly for the dance floor, gleaned from European club music of the '90s—equal parts house diva-ing and R&B, with the essence of Studio 54 steez. Ultra Naté spent the 90s dominating the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts with her house ballads. With "Turn It Up" she is proving that she is still the go-to for straight up club fire. This must be what it sounds like when your plane lands in Ibiza and you're already donning a sequined bodycon number, prepped for 24-hour partying. She is gearing up for the release of her eighth album, Hero Worship, this year. It will surely provide you with party fuel until 2097.
