PREMIERE: Donaeo - Where's Da Mandem At
So all you Americans are probably wondering what a 'Mandem' is and what Donaeo's trying to say with this song. Essentially, what the London-based rapper's trying to communicate here is that sometimes he likes chilling on his own watching Fight Club and eating Nando's and chocolate cheesecake, but at other times he likes hanging around with his friends (the titular 'Mandem'). He doesn't have many friends, but the ones he does have, he can trust. Elsewhere, flushed synths translate as the sort of thing that rattles around battle-ready boy heads at paranoia parties, while tight, checked percussion indicates that Donaeo is adept at 'holding his shit together'. It makes for a good track. You should get it.
