One of the best things about Chromeo's Business Casual is that it sounds exactly like something Patrick Bateman of American Psycho would soliloquize about, as he spent a lot of that novel/movie brandishing his favorite '80s pop music before slicing his prey. That's to say that Dave-1 and P-Thugg hit the nail on the head when it came to crafting the Hall and Oatesian album—"Hot Mess" being a particular stand-out. That sound is, however, almost completely depleted from the record when dynamic duo, Duck Sauce, compromised of A-Trak and Arman Van Helden, rub it with cassette tape tin, adding a lot of fuzz and bringing it into 2011, while still maintaining a Miami Vice soundtrack quality. Adding a hook sung by La Roux's Elly Jackson must have been a no brainer—her vocals are infectious pop mastery and suit up quite nice with Chromeo's current style. Nothing messy about this.
