PREMIERE: The Get Up Kids - Shatter Your Lungs

It's hard to sum up The Get Up Kids in one hundred words or less. The key components to an itty bitty primer on these KCMo fathers of pop-punk would need to include mention of the feedback frenzied screaming yearns of their debut full-length Four Minute Mile. One couldn't forget to add that their amps were the ladders for bands like Fall Out Boy to stand on or that the hearts of their long-time fans ached when they broke up from 2005-2008. "Shatter Your Lungs" is a new endeavor for these men. It still encompasses the emotional pieces that made up their releases from 1999's Something To Write Home About until the most recent EP, Simple Science, but now their tunes include electro elements which embellish those meaningful moments they're famous for providing into a new experiment for the band. Their first full-length after the hiatus, There Are Rules, will hit stores on January 25 on their own label Quality Hill.
